Construction

Yes, we clean windows. But it’s how we clean them thats important.

Several years ago we contacted a home builder to introduce our service. He sighed a weary sigh and said, “I wish you had come along six months ago.” He explained that on a recent project--after the windows were cleaned--an ugly problem surfaced. The builder discovered that almost every window in the house had been scratched. The replacement cost exceeded $30,000.00. The window cleaner (who had no insurance) denied responsibility. So did the stucco guys. And so did the painter. And so did the manufacturer.

This not an uncommon story. One worker can do a lot of damage. It can ruin relationships and even take down businesses.

The LightStream Scratch Free Process

Our process is mostly about inspection and communication. During the bidding process, every window is inspected and results are passed on to the job site manager. Just prior to cleaning, the windows are inspected again, with results passed on. And during the cleaning process, we follow a precise procedure: first, we gently scrub the window with a lamb’s wool brush. The we remove the cleaning solution with a squeegee. Again, if we find scratches, we report them. If not, we go ahead clean the window.

The advantages of our system go two ways. One, it helps you pin down liability for damage earlier in the process. Two, anyone can scratch a window. We want to know if we are causing damage, so that we can stop immediately and find a remedy. Our system keeps us aware and accountable on every pane of glass!

Of course, we always encourage job-site managers to be vigilant in requiring that painters, stucco companies, and window installers take appropriate action to cover the glass prior to commencing work. There is no better way to protect the glass.

Does our system take longer? Yes. Does it cost more? Yes. Does it save us all the nightmare of legal action, dissatisfied customers, and financial burden? Our answer is a resounding “Yes!” We hope that you’ll agree with us.
